Keep your Buchheit Buddy entertained with this DIY catapult! With just a few supplies and a few steps, you can have your very own mini catapult. Launch coins, marbles, cotton balls or anything else you can find!
Supplies
- 10 Buchheit paint sticks (FREE! Just ask a friendly Team Member in the paint department)
- 5 rubber bands
- 1 small PVC cap
- 1 square of Velcro
Instructions
- Stack 8 paint sticks together. Tie a rubber band on both ends.
- Stack 2 paint sticks together. Rubber band only one end.
- Separate the 2 paint sticks and place the stack of 8 paint sticks between the middle.
- Wrap 2 rubber bands around all of the paint sticks to hold the catapult together. One from each direction, making an X in the center.
- Grab your Velcro and cut a small square to fit on the cap and on the edge of the stick. We cut a square about 1” x 1”.
- Stick one side of the square on the square on the bottom of the PVC cap.
- Stick the other side of the Velcro square on the edge of the paint stick (the edge with the gap, NOT the edge that’s rubber banded together.
- Attach the PVC cap to the end of the catapult using the Velcro square. This will be your launching platform.
- Grab a small item that will fit in the cap and place it inside.
- Hold the rubber banded end together with one finger and press down on the paint stick with the cap with your other finger. And launch!
