Here Doug Buchheit stands outside the grain milling-works, located adjacent to Buchheit Headquarters. He and the staff are passionate about producing not only excellent feeds and specialty products for the consumer but also using locally grown grains. Doug said when I toured the plant that he was proud of the fact that Buchheit commits to purchase grains grown by resident farmers in the area as it helps the local economy.
The plant was fascinating and contained silos, pulleys, and complicated conveyor belts filled large multi-storied rooms.
The engines and motors purred under the expert care of mechanics and workers who knew every inch of the plant by heart.
Katlyn oversees the computer hub. This is where the measuring and blending of each type of feed are programmed down to the trace minerals that keep our livestock healthy. From pig to pony, to songbird to cattle, to corn for the deer, Buchheit carries a complete line of top-quality products for any livestock.
Many commercial operations have their custom-blends delivered to their farms by the fleet of Buchheit trucks.
The state-of-the-art computer system also tracks the current feed orders of customers large and small. You can pick up orders directly from the mill or fill your truck with feed from your area store.
