If you are looking for a sweet treat to make with your little Buchheit Buddy, look no further! We have a simple little patriotic recipe for this 4th of July. You could add fresh fruit to these layers or substitute different flavors that suit your little one’s taste. Here’s just a basic recipe to get your creative juices flowing:

Ingredients

  • 1 cup red juice– cranberry, cherry, or even Hawaiian Punch
  • 1 cup lemonaid– you could also try sweetened coconut milk or vanilla yogurt
  • 1 cup blue sports drink – or try blue raspberry Kool-Aid

Supplies Needed

  • 8 3-oz. paper or plastic cups
  • Baking sheet or pan that will fit in your freezer
  • 8 popsicle or craft sticks
  • Aluminum foil

Instructions

Step 1: Arrange the cups on the baking sheet. Evenly divide the red juice among the cups.

Step 2: Cover with a sheet of aluminum foil. Poke the craft sticks through the foil into the center of each cup. Place the entire pan into the freezer for 2 to 3 hours or until set.

Step 3: Remove from freezer and gently remove the foil cover. Evenly divide the lemonade among the cups to make the second layer. Replace the foil if your sticks still need help standing up straight.

Step 4: Return to the freezer for another 2 to 3 hours or until the second layer is solid.

Step 5: Remove from the freezer and evenly divide the blue drink among the cups. Return to the freezer for 2 to 3 hours until all layers are solid.

Step 6: Gently pull each popsicle out of its cup and enjoy!
