Hunting season is HERE and we know you’re excited. But if you take hunting seriously, we have some suggestions for gear you’ll be glad you have.

Climber Stands

When it comes to gear, any good hunter knows they need a climber treestand. Quality stands are important when you think about sitting 15 feet high in a tree, so cost shouldn’t be too big of a factor in your decision-making process. When evaluating different climbers, here are some things you should take into consideration:

  • Value
  • Durability
  • Weight of the stand
  • Capacity weight
  • Platform dimensions

While there are lots of climber options out there, our number one suggestion is the Ameristep 8200 Deluxe Hang On. The Ameristep climbing treestand is made of fully welded, heavy-duty steel. The stand is only about 19 pounds to make it easier for you to haul around, even with its weight capacity of 300 pounds. This stand has been engineered to provide you with the strength and durability to give you peace of mind even on the windiest of days.

But that’s not our only stand. At Buchheit, we offer a range of stands from tripods to hang-ons to ladder stands and more. Check out our variety and find the treestand that’s best for you.

Safety Harnesses

To ensure your safety when hunting, it’s best practice to wear a full-body harness while in your treestand. Full-body harnesses make sure you stay secure in your stand with a tether that straps around your thighs and chest and includes a rope that attaches to the top of the tree. Full-body harnesses keep you from falling any more than 12-18 inches.

Binoculars

Oftentimes, hunters rely on their riflescopes as their binoculars. And while sometimes, riflescopes provide pretty decent imagery, they provide a limited field of view and can be cumbersome to use when scanning the woods for movement. Magnification in binoculars is much higher and can show you more precise imagery. Binoculars provide superior magnification and can be adjusted at the top with your fingers and increase visibility during low-light situations during those moments of first or last minutes of shooting light.

The Crossfire HD Binoculars are optimized with select glass elements to deliver exceptional resolution. They provide a secure, non-slip grip and durable external protection. They can also be used with or without eyeglasses. These binoculars are a must-have for hunting because of the 325 feet of field view they provide.

Lifts

One of the most essential items a hunter can bring on a hunting trip is a lift system. As exciting as shooting that buck you’ve been chasing for years can be, that excitement can dwindle when you remember you have to haul it back and load it into your vehicle. But the Magnum Lift System by Muddy Outdoors can be a lifesaver. With a weight capacity of 500 pounds and a 4:1 weight reduction, your hunting trip will be much more efficient and much less time-consuming. The single-person lift makes your life easier, so no more waiting around for your buddy to come help you haul your prized buck out of the woods. And, when you aren’t using it, it’s compact size will make for easy storage.

While every hunter is different, we think this gear will make your next hunting trip a successful and fulfilling one – just as it’s supposed to be. We can’t wait to see that 10-pointer mounted in your basement. Happy hunting.
