Steve Berry said, “A concerted effort to preserve our heritage is a vital link to our cultural, educational, aesthetic, inspirational, and economic legacies—all of the things that quite literally make us who we are.”

December 22nd is Forefathers’ Day. This is a holiday that commemorates the pilgrim’s voyage to New England and the founding of Plymouth, Massachusetts on December 21, 1620. When these 132 individuals sailed to a new land to secure a better life, they had no idea how much of an impact their efforts would have on future generations. Part of the American dream is reflecting upon how hard one has worked and where you have come from. This day serves as a reminder that we need to preserve our heritage. Sadly, our heritage is often neglected and history, memories, and artifacts are lost. When we research and share our heritage, we are preserving history and creating a sense of identity for ourselves.

We like to remember how the Buchheit Family of Businesses grew out of a small business that hauled rural merchandise from the big city during the Great Depression. Personal service meant a lot to our customers back then as it does today. Our values reflect those of a business started by one man and the unwavering perseverance he promoted. Character matters in our company, after all, our success was founded on it. We are proud to say that you will see our fundamental values and behaviors in our team members today. Staying true to our core values during eighty-plus years in business has helped us, the Buchheit Team Members, create a company we’re proud to work for and manage.
