Sadie Sue is the best farm cat I will probably ever own! She is a warrior cat who protects her domain with stealthily cat tactics.

Why have the added expenses of a cat? One word: mice. Okay, more words: rats, moles, voles, more mice, and sparrows (mice with wings)! Don’t think you have rats? Neither did I until I went to show off my first kindle of baby bunnies and all their paws and some of their noses had been eaten off by a rat or large mouse. I had them in an enclosure that my good mouser could not reach. I am convinced that if they had been where Sadie Sue could have protected them, their death would have been avoided. Despite the tragic lots of the kits, I learned a lesson on the value of a good farm cat.

A good farm cat should get along with all the livestock around her, but this is going a bit too far. Gracie is in the chicken’s nesting box. I’m still waiting for her to lay an egg.

Sadie Sue lets me know she is pulling her weight by leaving me “presents” of rodents. As fall approaches, the field mice start coming in, and a few good mousers will make a tremendous difference in the quality of my life on the homestead. I hate mice in my house. A good mouser trains up her kittens in the art of war, and I am the beneficiary of that skill legacy.

The only negative with my good mouser is her fertility. She has at least two litters of kittens each year. She is an excellent mother and all her kittens all find homes as the dairy farms in the area need good mousers too. Pet your cat today and relax!

Be blessed! Anne May
