I’m amazed at the selection of accessories available to the modern hunter. Today I am at my local Sparta Buchheit store to interview the staff in the sporting goods department about their advice on the selection of the right handgun for the novice marksman. This is the eighth and final Buchheit store for me to glean information from the staff. Lisa has been with the Buchheit Company for many years, and she is an excellent supervisor who knows her products.
We discussed the pros and cons of the conceal and carry purse offered at all the Buchheit stores. I like the design and cost of the all leather purse so much I would purchase it even if I wasn’t going to use the special pouch in the front of the bag where you can conceal a handgun.
The hostler has Velcro on each side to hold the gun securely in the side pocket. I am planning on attaching a section of Velcro into the main compartment of the purse to keep the included holster in place. Her recommendation for a conceal carry weapon was the Ruger LCP2 380 ACP. It has no safety which many users find advantageous.
I also interviewed Fred, a retired policeman who is now a member of the Buchheit staff. He likes a Smith and Wesson 380 Cal compact firearm for conceal and carry. It’s a semi-automatic that features one shot per trigger pull. His suggestions for the first-time gun owner are to be familiar with your gun, have it close, adequately loaded and know your safety features. If you feel unsafe, pull into a bank or any lighted area.
This concludes my series on concealed carry firearms selection and basic gun safety tips from the experts at Buchheit. Consider their large variety of wares when you are expanding or starting your gun collection. Hope this was helpful. Be Blessed in all you put your hands to.
